Jay E. Oh, Ph.D. is a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and an Imago Clinical Instructor and Faculty at Imago International Training Institute (IITI). Jay introduced Imago Relationship Therapy to South Korea by hosting Imago Clinical Training with Dr. Harville Hendrix, Wendy Patterson, and Mike Borash. Currently, there are about 200 Certified Imago Therapists/ trainees and Couples Workshop Presenters/ trainees in South Korea. He is the President of Daybreak University as well as a Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT) at the Southern California College of Couples and Family Therapy at Daybreak University. Daybreak University provides the first Ph.D. degree program with a specialization in Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT). Jay holds masters and doctorate degrees in Theology and Pastoral Counseling from Harvard University and the University of Toronto. He also received a Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of New England. He completed the COAMFTE accredited Post-Graduate MFT Program at Council for Relationships. He is a founder of the Korean Association of Family Counseling (KAFC), which has a national network of 56 counseling centers with 6,000 members of professional therapists. He received the Best Teacher’s Award, the Best Lecturer’s Award three times consecutively by Soongsil University as well as the Best Research Award and the Best Supervisor Award by the National Council of Graduate School of Counseling and Psychotherapy (NCGSCP). Jay’s article was nominated as the best article by the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy (JMFT) of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and he also received the International Development Award and Helen LaKelly Hunt Award for Community Building by Imago Relationships International (IRI). Jay is a frequent guest on TV, including MBC Special, the most popular TV documentary program, broadcasted “Couples Solution: Imago.” His book, “I Love Myself the Way I Am” became a national bestseller in South Korea. Jay has translated Theory and Practice of Imago Relationship Therapy, Healing in the Relational Paradigm: Imago Relationship Therapy Casebook. Currently, he is translating Getting the Love You Want book into Korean.
