Colleen is in private practice on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and has been teaching and working with families for over 40 years. She is a Getting the Love You Want Couples Workshop presenter, advanced clinician, and Faculty Associate. Her passion for this work began with her own transformation while attending a Getting the Love You Want workshop in 1997, where she was deeply changed by the insights she gained. Imago then became the driving force in her life’s work. Colleen enjoys spending time with her husband Kevin, her greatest teacher, and their biggest joy is the time they share with their children, grandchildren, and dog, Tilly. This work continues to provide opportunities for generational healing in a profound way. Relationships are our best teachers.
My journey as an educator began in 1982 when I started teaching first grade. It was in that classroom that I discovered my passion for nurturing a love of learning in my students. I realized early on that the key to fostering student growth lies in two fundamental principles: creating a safe space for making mistakes and building strong, connected relationships. This commitment to better relationships led me to pursue a master’s degree in counseling.
Over the years, working with children and their families brought immense joy and profound challenges. I understood that to truly support children, I needed to help their parents cultivate healthier relationships. This realization guided me to the Imago journey, which profoundly shaped my professional path. In 2021, I had the honor of joining the Imago Faculty.
My life’s work is dedicated to helping students grow both personally and professionally, empowering them to share their gifts with the world. I am, and will always be, a teacher.
